Snoring Driving Couples To Break Up

Snoring is the number one night-time disruption that is wrecking relationships and causing partners to sleep apart, according to new research.
One in four couples admitted they sleep in individual beds and separate rooms because one of them has an “unbearable” habit such as snoring, duvets hogging, restlessness or noisiness.
But of those who do share a bed and sleep together, for example in a quality super king duvet, three-quarters lose out on sleep due to snoring.
In long-term relationships, on average they lose 70 minutes of sleep a night, which is two years over their lifetime.
The conducted ‘Bedtime Etiquette’ survey by Etap Hotel, involved 4,000 couples. It showed a lack of sleep causes arguments in almost half of relationships; causing sex drives to suffer.
Psychologist Donna Dawson said: “Snoring is the fastest way to kill the romance and passion in a relationship.”
One in 20 people agreed that they would think about leaving their partner due to their habit of snoring.
Six out of 10 people were agitated over their partner’s habit of hogging bed covers and one-third of the couples had problem regarding their partners talking aloud in the night.
“One solution to snoring is to sleep apart, as a good night’s sleep not only revives the body, but also rekindles the romance by making it feel as though you are dating again,” Dawson added.
